Founded as the Joy Cab Company, filling a need to move automotive parts in the city of Detroit.

1940’s

Supported the war effort by transporting critical manufacturing materials.

1941

1941

Awarded one of the first motor carrier operating authorities, establishing an early presence in regulated freight transportation.

1965

Renamed E.L. Hollingsworth & Co. in honor of Emmet L. Hollingsworth, a Native American leader whose legacy continues to shape the company today.

1984

HELP LT secured the General Motors Truck Plant expedite contract.

1987

Became a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) through the NMSDC, reflecting our Native American family ownership and ongoing commitment to diversity and growth.

1991

Launched Chieftain Contract Services to provide dedicated truckload.

2007

Established TOP Worldwide, expanding global logistics with full-service freight brokerage capabilities.

2008

Founded Native American Logistics to support automotive manufacturers in the Detroit area and focused on optimizing large-scale supply chains.

2010

Expanded internationally with the launch of NAL Mexico, strengthening cross-border logistics services.

2013

Formed First Nations Insurance Company to provide specialized freight insurance for carrier partners.

2019

Divested Chieftain Contract Services and HELP LTL to focus on core growth areas and future expansion.

2019

Supported emergency logistics efforts during the Flint water crisis, coordinating water distribution to affected communities.

2024

Celebrated 100 years of service, innovation, and community impact as a Native American family-owned and operated company.
